The pistachio nut

Pistacia Vera: a small greenish nut with a mild taste, lodged in a shell with a seam that splits when ripe.
It is the only dried fruit that does not need to be shelled before roasting and salting.
They are sold partly open: The splitting is done naturally (on the tree) or mechanically.
